First question: how do you reconcile your work with park management?
Each of us has their own work activity, which takes up most of the day, but if you put it together you can do everything, and when there is passion to motivate what you do, everything turns out well!
Tell us about the idea, the origins of the park
The idea of the park stems from the desire to enhance a territory with enormous unexpressed potential; we would like to demonstrate that there is a way of experiencing the mountains that does not necessarily have to be just sacrifice, and at the same time, we would like to introduce these wonderful places to those who have never visited them.
How long has the park existed and how has it evolved over time?
The Veja Adventure Park was inaugurated with a beautiful PARTY on 30/06/2018. It was born as a small company with the intention of developing it slowly.
From the 4 paths in the first year, we went to 5 in the second, where the “little houses” area was also created for the little ones.
In the third year, the Park has been enriched even more: more paths but also greater care and cleaning of the wood, with the expansion of the accessible part, in particular the area near the lake.
The intent is to always offer a pleasant stay to visitors to the Park, in a familiar environment that is also professional and safe. From the point of view of safety, we wanted to voluntarily adhere to the EN15567 certification right from the start.
What innovations have you proposed this year compared to previous years?
For the 2020 season we wanted to expand the offer for our younger guests, to encourage and make the family experience better.
Specifically, we have renewed the Kids Area dedicated to children under 90cm. Here the little house route was already present and we added the purple route and the flat cableway. All attractions can be used without a harness.
We then added the white path, the first acrobatic path already accessible from 90cm in height.
Low shot: why choose Veja Adventure Park instead of another adventure park?
In reality we like the idea of not being in opposition to any other park, we prefer to collaborate to promote and encourage the development of outdoor activities and in general of our beautiful Lessinia. The demonstration of this is that we are in close collaboration with both BoscoPark di Bosco Chiesanuova and the Parco delle Cascate di Molina.
Then with regard to the peculiarities of the park we can say that both live and then in the online reviews, people compliment us and appreciate us for the cleanliness of the places and the environment and for the care that our instructors have in following the people: from the smallest to the oldest. And this is a source of great satisfaction for us.
We think that other strengths of our Park are the proximity to the Veja Bridge and the ease in reaching us.
For those who do not know what could you tell in a few words about Lessinia?
Lessinia is a very large plateau that starts from Valdadige and reaches Valle del Chiampo in the Vicenza area, arcing around the entire province of Verona.
Due to its extension it is a very varied territory, both for history and for architecture and traditions. And for this very reason it is all to be experienced and discovered.
Being “low mountain” it is suitable to be visited by everyone and in all seasons.
An adjective that is often compared to Lessinia is “Magic”.
The park also employs local teenagers, right?
Yes, almost all the people employed at the Park are local. Veja Adventure Park was also born with this intent: the care and maintenance of our beautiful Lessinia passes from the possibility of people being able to work and therefore live there.
Attention to the environment, the presence of people and work activities must not be in opposition but rather be strictly interconnected with each other.
Can we reveal the projects for the next few years at the park?
There are so many ideas and projects on the table. Over the years Veja Adventure Park aims to become a complete park and a reference point for tourism in Sant’Anna d’Alfaedo and Lessinia. As soon as the season is over, the Members will establish priorities and decide the work plan for the next few years.
Surely the capacity of the Park will be increased and the routes will be implemented. We realized that we need to expand the offer and opportunities for young people and adults with even more challenging steps.
From the point of view of the liveability of the Park instead we plan to add other tables and benches, nature trails, enhance the pond with a relaxation area.
Other innovations that will complete the Park’s offer concern the development of cycling on e-bikes, and outdoor activities in nature such as orienteering.
And who knows, the ideas are so many …
What is the most popular route?
The most popular route is certainly “the flying wolf”. It is a circular zip-line course with a first “flight” of more than 80 meters.
It is a path that does not present technical difficulties and everyone finds it adrenaline-pumping and fun. Once tried, no one wants to get off!
To close: tell us a funny story that actually happened in the park.
In reality, particular anecdotes do not come to mind, but mostly situations that repeat themselves. Mainly these are those circumstances in which children, but often also adults, find themselves in difficulty due to height or balance.
In those cases where our intervention is needed, both to reassure and to help, a sort of complicity mixed with gratitude is created.
The best part, however, is seeing the satisfaction on people’s faces and the smiles of the children who managed to complete a difficult step for them, overcoming the fear that blocked them.
